Developing and Testing the Negative Mentoring Experience Questionnaire (NMEQ) for Nurses

Many nurse managers actively developed mentoring programs to shorten the acclimation period of new nurses in hospitals. The main aim was develop a negative experience questionnaire (NMEQ) and test its validity reliability. A cross-sectional study employed. This adopted questionnaire-survey method with Taiwanese In study, this reliability analysis, content, validity, construct criterion-related analysis. 255 participants were collected, 87.93% response rate. total 29 items five-dimension scale NMEQ proposed: four nursing manager items, institutional three other medical staff 12 mentor six mentee items. Correlation function exhibited significantly correlation ( p < .05). is reliable valid for hospital nurses. It also can help clinical clarify possible experiences strengthen adaptability mental health programs. Nursing policy planners use measure nurses, monitor performance program, further revise policies.
